Research Interests

The effect of orthodontic treatment on 3D facial soft tissues
Anomalies of tooth number (tooth size and shape, arch dimensions, 3D facial soft tissues, patterning and phenotype of gene expression)
Tooth size and shape and the design of fixed appliance technique
Tooth size and shape, and tooth development in the normal and numerically anomalous dentitions

Current Work

In collaboration with colleagues Dr. Wendy Dirks (Oral Biology) and Dr. Ross Hobson (Child Dental Health), we are examining developmental asymmetry in the timing of contralateral tooth formation in patients with both normal dentition and hypodontia.
