Aims

By completing the module ‘Multiprofessional Management of Cancer Part 1’ (ONC8017), students will acquire a foundation in the basic aspects of clinical oncology as a basis for further study of specific cancer sites. The module aims to:

•       Extend students’ understanding of the general principles of cancer and its management;
•       Explore and understand epidemiological and genetic aspects of cancer in general;
•       Promote an understanding of the interaction between the major cancer treatment modalities;
•       Provide an introduction to common-non-site-specific cancer related problems including oncological emergencies and quality of life issues.
