Many students obtain prestigious sponsorship from funding bodies, charities and industry. Staff registered for research studies include clinical individuals on training (many of whom have esteemed funding eg Wellcome Trust and MRC clinical research training fellowships).
UK and EU students seeking funding normally apply for our advertised studentships, many of which are funded by UK Research Councils. The Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) offers studentships through a partnership between Newcastle University, Liverpool University and Durham University. UK students may be entitled to a Professional & Career Development Loan.
International students may receive funding from their own government or from international scholarship schemes. The University also offers a discount on tuition fees for relatives of international students.
The University have a number of Overseas Research Student Scholarships.
A small number of scholarships are available for 2013 entry into the MRes Programmes and MSc in Medical Sciences.

Northern Institute for Cancer Research Scholarships, Bursaries and Studentships
The Northern Institute for Cancer Research has a number of competitive Scholarships, Bursaries and Studentships for which students who register on the M.Res. in Cancer Programme are eligible.

Centre for Behaviour and Evolution MRes Scholarships
The Centre for Behaviour and Evolution at Newcastle University has a limited number of Scholarships available to students who apply for either the MRes in Animal Behaviour or the MRes in Evolution and Human Behaviour. It is open to UK, EU and international students who are not already fully funded by external sources.
