In addition to the programme description, the information below details the modules you can expect to study as part of this postgraduate degree. Please be aware that programme modules do change and therefore may differ for your year of entry.

PGCert modules

• MCR8001 (attendance) OR MCR8009 (e-learning) Research Governance & Ethics
• MCR8002 (attendance) OR MCR8010 (e-learning) Research Study Design & Data Interpretation
• MCR8003 (attendance) OR MCR8011 (e-learning) Writing in a Research Setting

Students completing and passing the Certificate level may continue study to Diploma level in year 2.

PGDip modules

Students on the PG Diploma Clinical Research pathway will be required to study the following module:

and 40 credits from the following optional modules:

• MMB8004 Ageing and Health (attendance) (20 credits)
• MMB8009 Clinical Epidemiology (attendance)(20 credits)
• HSC8051 Introduction to Qualitative Research Methods (attendance) (10 credits)*
• HSC8052 Further Qualitative Research Methods (attendance) (10 credits)*
• MCR8017 Developing Yourself as a Leader (attendance)(20 credits)
• MCR8027 Strategic Leadership in the NHS (attendance) (20 credits)
• MCR8019 Clinical Research Statistics (e-learning) (20 credits)
• MCR8020 Ageing & Health (e-learning) (20 credits)
• MCR8021 Clinical Research with Older People (e-learning) (20 credits)

* HSC8051 and HSC8052 must be taken together.

Note: Modules on the PG Diploma Clinical Research must all be studied by attendance OR all studied by e-learning. Students may not study modules in both modes without the permission of the Degree Programme Director.

Students completing and passing the Diploma level may continue their studies to Master level in year 3.
