Newcastle University Business School, together with Queen Mary University of London’s School of Business and Management recently hosted 2017 Behavioural Finance Working Group Conference.

On 12-13 June, Newcastle University Business School, together with Queen Mary University of London’s School of Business and Management hosted the 2017 Behavioural Finance Working Group Conference in London. 

Co-organised by Professor Darren Duxburythe conference considered how the fields of behavioural finance, economic psychology, financial socio-analysis and other related areas can enhance our understanding of financial behaviours.

Professor Malcolm P. Baker, Head of Finance at Harvard Business School, delivered the Keynote Speech. ‌Papers presented at the conference examined how the fields of behavioural finance, economic psychology, financial socio-analysis and other related areas can enhance our understanding of financial behaviours.‌ 

‌The conference was a huge success with over 70 presentations/talks and more than one hundred attendees from across the globe, including Australia, Canada, the USA,  and European.

The Business School's Behavioural Research in Finance (BRiF) Research Group, had a strong presence at the conference, with presentations by PhD Students: Rosie Cao, Yanyu Li and Wenzhao Wang and Dr. Bartosz Gebka. PhD Students: Samah El Hajjar and Sze Nie also attended the event.
