Biomedical Mass Spectrometry Unit
The Biomedical Mass Spectrometry Unit is situated in the
William Leech Building, where it provides a mass spectrometry
service to all university members and to external customers. It also provides service to external academic and
corporate customers. Experienced staff are always
available to help with your enquiry.

- We offer two weighing options on our Ohaus
analytical balance, both available independently of
the use of other BMSU facilities.
You may request time on the balance, bookable in
advance, to weigh out your own samples or,
alternatively, you can request that we weigh the
samples for you

Specialist Services
Thermo Trace GC-MS: a quadrupole instrument
with both EI & CI capabilities. Running the Thermo
Xcalibur™ data system, from a Windows 2000® platform, qualitative and quantitative data can be
generated within the mass range 1-1020 amu. The
attached 90 well AS2000 autosampler allows for
fully automated batch analysis.
