Dove Marine LaboratoryThe Dove Marine Laboratory has been a centre of excellence in research, education and outreach relating to the marine environment for over one hundred years.

The sea’s immediate proximity facilitates exploration of ocean acidification, invasive species, marine ecosystem functioning and marine biotechnology among other research areas.

Facilities in a coastal setting are available for hire to visiting researchers and fieldcourse users with technical support, seawater aquaria, wet bench, environmental chambers, FlowCAM and associated equipment.

The Laboratory offers the ideal alternative setting for small conference or workshop activities for users of all backgrounds. The Buchanan Room with sea view can accommodate 40 delegates with modern audio-visual tools.

Expertise in environmental education allows learners of all ages, from Key Stage 1 to adult learners, to explore the wonders of the oceans.
