Newcastle University students Aidan Pratt and Sophie Anderton are spreading the love at Bede’s World museum, giving visitors the chance to explore how Valentine’s Day has been celebrated over time.
Both students are currently on placement at Bede’s World, Jarrow as part of the Career Development module they are taking as part of their studies. The Career Development module gives you the opportunity to use your work experience, volunteering activities or part-time job to count towards your degree. We can even find your placement for you!
As part of their responsibilities, Aidan and Sophie, who are final year undergraduate students studying ancient history and archaeology, have created a number of Valentine’s themed activities to take place throughout the school holidays.
A museum spokesman adds: “Through their placement at Bede’s World, they had to set themselves a project related to the museum to develop their skills in organisation, communication and personal enterprise. The students decided that they would use St Valentine’s Day as their subject matter.”
