Background

Prior to joining the Careers Service in September 2010, Jenny was employed as a Business Coach and Mentor at Leeds Beckett University and guest lecturer at Leeds University's Business School. She has also worked as a self employed business coach and mentor specialising in start up and third sector businesses.

Jenny has also been the owner of a multi-award winning gift and jewellery boutique in Leeds.

Roles and Responsibilities

Jenny's main responsibilities are to actively promote and embed enterprise education, focusing on post graduate researchers in each of the three faculties. Supporting students, supervisors and academic staff, her role enables access to opportunities for these individuals to become fully aware of and immersed in the opportunities available to them to further their careers, their enterprising behaviours and to nurture entrepreneurial intentions.

Designing, delivering and developing bespoke modules, workshops and interactive programmes in collaboration with each school is a key focus alongside understanding the current and future career aspirations of the PGR cohorts at Newcastle University and other comparable institutions.
