Background

After working as a secondary school maths teacher for 16 years, Jim joined the University in 1993 as project director for a widening participation programme called Students into Schools, run jointly with Northumbria University.

Roles and Responsibilities

Jim is currently responsible for the development and delivery of the suite of centrally-delivered Career Development Modules. Working with colleagues at Northumbria University, the team of 3.5 staff in the Careers Service Curriculum Unit are module leaders for the 600 Newcastle and Northumbria students per year who take these modules, which include Students into Schools placements.
