Background

Background

Steve is an audio-visual entrepreneur with over 25 years experience working in a variety of roles in the film and television industries since 1991 and as a film producer since 1997.

He ran two independent production companies and has been responsible for over 50 audio-visual projects including feature films, short films and television productions for broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel Four and SKY TV, screen agencies such as the UK Film Council, Screen Yorkshire and Northern Film & Media and independent film distributors and international sales agents.

He is a graduate of the prestigious European Audio Visual Entrepreneurs programme and has worked as a Mentor for Digital City, a Film Specialist for Generator and a Senior Lecturer for the Media Business School in addition to designing and delivering bootcamps, workshops and training programmes for aspiring entrepreneurs.


Role and Responsibilities

As an Enterprise Adviser (Start-up Support), Steve provides students and recent graduates with group and one-to-one support to develop their lifestyle or growth orientated businesses as well as providing advice and support for freelance and self-employed work.

Steve is responsible for the design and delivery of extracurricular workshops, programmes and events that aim to inspire and incubate innovation and the acquisition of entrepreneurial knowledge.

In addition, he supports international students and graduates seeking to establish businesses in the UK.


Qualifications

NVQ Level 6, Film & Video Production, NEMTC

Postgraduate Certificate in European Audio Visual Entrepreneurship, MEDIA programme of the European Union
