How do I apply for an NWE placement?

Once you have chosen a placement to apply for, use the link within the advertisement to access the online application form. Please ensure you have your CV ready to upload.

Shortlisted applications will be forwarded to the host company for review; you will be notified of the outcome of your application within 48 hours of the closing date. The most suitable candidate will be selected following a round of interviews.

We strongly recommend that you call in to the Careers Service for a 15 minute drop-in appointment with an information officer or CV adviser to review your application before submitting it.

You must be eligible to work in the UK during your studies before applying for a NWE placement. International students can visit the UKCISA website for information on working in the UK during your studies.

During each year you can complete only one term-time and one summer placement. Unsuccessful applicants are free to apply for further advertised NWE placements.
