Passport to Work provides brief training and work shadowing (2-4 hours) in areas such as hospitality, customer service, administration and retail. The scheme is aimed at current students of Newcastle University who are looking for paid work in the UK but are finding it difficult due to a lack of work experience on their CV. Please note that all sessions are unpaid.
Passport to Work takes place twice a year:
Passport to Work gives you the opportunity to observe staff undertaking key aspects of their job. You will gain transferable skills and experience in a real work situation to add to your CV. You will also get a certificate outlining the experience you’ve gained to show employers when you’re looking for work.

Sessions take place at a variety of locations either on or near the University Campus and last between 2-4 hours.
Through Passport to Work, you can shadow a broad range of roles including reception staff, bar work, barista and front of house. You can apply for more than one session.
