What is Passport to Work?

Passport to Work provides brief training and work shadowing (2-4 hours) in areas such as hospitality, customer service, administration and retail. The scheme is aimed at current students of Newcastle University who are looking for paid work in the UK but are finding it difficult due to a lack of work experience on their CV. Please note that all sessions are unpaid.

Passport to Work takes place twice a year:

  • October - December
  • February - March

What are the benefits of taking part in Passport to Work?

Passport to Work gives you the opportunity to observe staff undertaking key aspects of their job. You will gain transferable skills and experience in a real work situation to add to your CV. You will also get a certificate outlining the experience you’ve gained to show employers when you’re looking for work.

How can I apply?

Passport to Work sessions take place during Semester 2 from 2 February – 15 March 2015 - see below for the full list. To apply for any of the sessions, please complete our online booking form.

You can sign up to more than one session, however these are offered on a first come first served basis and fill up quickly, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
