Career Choices

Due to the highly specialised technical expertise gained at Newcastle University, the majority of Mechanical Engineering MEng Honours graduates go on to pursue careers in mechanical engineering. The variety within these roles is considerable; our graduates have been employed by large international firms specialising in automotive, defence, transportation, energy, and engineering consultancy. Some choose to secure careers within the Armed Forces, combining their engineering expertise with the transferable skills they gained while undertaking project work, such as the ability to solve problems, communicate effectively, and work in teams.

Below are recent examples of graduates' employment destinations. For data protection reasons, due to the small sample size, we are unable to provide detailed further study examples for this group of students.
