What is JobsOC?

JobsOC (Jobs On Campus) is a new scheme for 2011-12.  It is an on campus jobs agency offering temporary and casual work assignments within the University to current students.

Assignments will be offered on a temporary basis and will last for no longer than 12 consecutive weeks, and for a maximum of 16 hours per week during term time. Work will be offered as and when it becomes available and may include evenings, weekends and vacation periods.

What types of jobs are available?

A variety of roles will be available, and may include:

  • Clerical Support
  • Events Assistance
  • Catering/Hospitality
  • Data Entry
  • Cleaning

Who is eligible to take part?

All current Newcastle University students are eligible to apply for the scheme, provided you will be registered as a student until at least June 2013.

International students must ensure that they are eligible to work in the UK during their studies.

All students will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the UK before being offered a contract of employment.

How can I get involved?

To be considered for temporary on campus jobs, you need to apply to become part of the JobsOC Student Temp pool.

Recruitment drives are held several times per year, and are currently planned for October 2012; January 2013 and April 2013.
