
Whether your business is no more than a great idea or you've already started trading, there is a variety of funding and support available to help you develop or grow your venture.
We can provide guidance on the most appropriate grant for you and support you throughout the application process.
Newcastle University Pre-Start Grants:
For Newcastle University students or graduates not yet trading but committed to developing a business idea. You could get up to £250 to support the development of your idea.
Newcastle University Start-up Grants:
For Newcastle University students or graduates with early trading ventures able to show that they have been trading for less than six months. You could get up to £250 to support the growth of your venture.
Santander Business Incubation Awards:
The application process is now open for 2011.
A maximum of three awards are available each year up until 2013. Each Award is up to a total value of £2000. Applicants must be a Newcastle University student or have graduated from Newcastle University within the last decade (academic year 1999/2000 or later). You do not have to reside in the North East to apply.
Applicants must be the owner or founder of a business less than 12 months old and have registered the business with Companies House or HMRC for Class 2/4 National Insurance.
Economic Challenge Investment Fund:
In 2009-2010, a total of £20k was injected into 16 different businesses started by Newcastle University graduates. The ECIF Awards were made available to Newcastle University graduates of the last decade who were either unemployed or not working in a graduate level job before starting up!
ECIF funding has now come to an end.
