New equipment available in the Centre includes:
- 400MHz multinuclear NMR
- X-Ray diffractometer
- high resolution UPLC ESI-MS system
- GCMS
- GC
- HPLC with diode array detector
- HPLC with fraction collector
- in situ FTIR spectroscopy
- in situ UV-vis
- polarimetry
Our research also makes use of a wide range of facilities in the School of Chemistry and the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials, as well as the University's general facilities.

The School of Chemistry has recently taken delivery of an Oxford Diffraction 'Gemini A Ultra' X-ray diffractometer, funded by an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grant worth nearly £400,000.
The advantages of the new machine include:
- fast and sensitive X-ray detector which has only recently been developed
- excellent easy-to-use software
- a choice of two different high-intensity X-ray sources
