Young researchers from the Centre for Brain Ageing & Vitality organised a 'Meet the Scientist' interactive event at the Newcastle Centre for Life visitor attraction. They designed an exhibit entitled 'Brain Power' which offered fun activites to encourage visitors to learn about the brain.
The Centre for Life received over 800 visitors on the day of the event and the enthusiasm of the researchers ensured that many of them found their way to the 'Brain Power' zone! The researchers used cartoon characters 'Mitoman' and his sidekick 'ATP' to lead the visitors through the exhibit. There was something for everyone, from sweetie DNA to looking at real brain cells under the microscope.
