Postgraduate Study

Postgraduate student discussing research at poster exhibitionMRes in Animal Behaviour

Our MRes in Animal Behaviour and MRes Evolution and Human Behaviour offer a one-year masters training in behavioural research, specializing in animal and human research respectively. Students gain in-depth knowledge and research skills from leading researchers, and conduct their own 24-week research project, perhaps with one of our academic or industrial partners in the UK or in Europe. Students receive extensive hands-on research experience, which will prepare them for a PhD, or perhaps research-related positions in academia or elsewhere. The Centre for Behaviour and Evolution offers a number of opportunities for postgraduate research.

MPhil and PhD Training

We also welcome enquiries and applications from prospective MPhil (one-year research degree) and PhD (three-year research degree) students from around the world. Research supervisors and their research areas can be found by looking at our staff list or research areas. Please contact individual members of staff directly about possible positions in their lab or opportunities for self-funded students. Please also see our vacancies page for current funded opportunities.
