Congratulations to Prof. Trevor Page who received the degree of ScD (Doctor of Science) from the University of Cambridge on Saturday January 21st having shown “distinction by original contribution to the advancement of science or of learning”. The ScD is the highest degree awarded by the University for distinction in scientific research. Candidates are normally internationally acclaimed scientists who submit a collection of the publications that best illustrate their achievements over their career in scientific research.
Prof. Page and his family, together with a small group of guests, enjoyed a reception and lunch in Jesus College, followed by a degree ceremony in the Cambridge Senate House.
For Prof. Page this had great personal significance as it fulfilled a pledge he made to his late father 41 years ago that he would try to ‘earn’ the scarlet ScD gown that his father so admired while proudly purchasing Trevor's PhD gown.
Congratulations Trevor from all in the School!
