Newcastle University

The IChemE Tyneside and Teesside member group jointly organised an event to celebrate the achievement of all chemical engineers in the area that have recently been chartered or elected as Fellows of IChemE. The president of IChemE, Sir William Wakeham, and the CEO, David Brown (pictured with Prof Montague, Head of School and Dr Glassey, the Tyneside Committee chair) attended the event at the Great North Museum on 4th April 2012.

Nearly 50 chemical engineers, a great number of them being past graduates of the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at Newcastle, currently working for a range of employers in the local area, attended this successful event. The School has always strongly supported the activities of the IChemE Tyneside branch with committee members from academic and student ranks and support with providing venues and co-sponsoring some of the events jointly organised with the Chemical Engineering Student Society.
