Newcastle UniversityOver £2M has been invested in laboratories and equipment in the last five years to ensure that the School maintains a range of state-of-the-art facilities in a number of areas.

This includes £650k for teaching facilities including:

  • the Millennium Laboratory for undergraduate chemistry teaching
  • the Exxon Mobil Design Suite for project work
  • small teaching rooms for MSc and CPD courses

SRIF funding of over £1M has bought responsive processing and nanocharacterisation equipment which underpins both cutting-edge research and contract work with industry. With the support of the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) we have also established an Applied Catalysis and Solid State Electrochemistry laboratory.

The School has a rolling programme of laboratory upgrades and refurbishments which are designed to strengthen its unique capabilities and provide a high quality environment for training, research and outreach.

As the School's Business Facilitator, Professor Paul Christensen co-ordinates the School's activities with respect to its outreach to business, and will be happy to provide further information and answer any queries.
