At Newcastle University we have developed the first the first ever gold nitride coatings for scientific applications and novel strained silicon/silicon germanium architectures for high speed computing.
Flow-induced phase inversion has been used in the preparation of nano-structured macro-porous materials for applications in energy conversion, gasification and demulsification.
A completely new method for mask-less micro-structuring of metals and alloys as well as TiO2 nano-particles for use as sun-blocks in cosmetics have also been developed.
