A nomadic academic career interspersed with periods of recalibration in industry, Jon describes himself as an industrialist in academic's clothing.
He holds dual positions as Director of the IGDS in Process Automation at Newcastle University and as Principal Automation Consultant with BP (Exploration).
Jon is author of the Process Automation Handbook (A Guide to Theory and Practice), published by Springer in 2007, ISBN 978-1-84628-281-2.
He is also active professionally, especially with the Process Management and Control Subject Group of the IChemE.

Postgraduate Teaching

Director of the IGDS in Process Automation: a suite of 16 intensive one-week modules delivered on a CPD basis within the framework of an MSc degree accredited by the IChemE, IET and InstMC. Module leader for all 16 taught modules. Also co-ordinator and supervisor for industrial projects. Approx 40 delegates registered.
