Currently I am supervisor of 2 PhD students
1. Mr. Luis Alves, Luis.Alves@ncl.ac.uk
2. Mr. Paul Coxon, P.R.Coxon@ncl.ac.uk
Currently in the research group are two very capable Post Docotorate Researchers
1. Marrie Currie Incoming Fellow
Dr. Yuriy Butenko, Yuriy.Butenko@ncl.ac.uk
2. Dr. Abel Brieva, Abel.Brieva@ncl.ac.uk
I have supervised sucessfully three PhD students: Dr. Y. Chao, Dr. M. Montalti, Dr. S. Krishnamurthy.
I am always very keen to start a new PhD or MPhil project especially with bright and enthusiastic students who would like to join us!
Discovery of gold nitride has been the subject of significant media attention. I was interviewed by BBC Radio Newcastle, The Journal newspaper, and by ITV news. The discovery was also published on the BBC News web pages23, Physics World web pages, in Process Engineering, November 2003 issue (Centaur Publishing Ltd) and articles have appeared in other international newspapers and journals such as Physicist (Australia), Advanced Packaging (USA), and The Hindu (India).
The gold nitride work has been also featured in Sunday Times, 28th January 2007.
Invited presentations on work of gold nitride at Chalmers University, Sweden; Institute for Physics, Zagreb, Croatia; NCESS, Daresbury, U.K.
