Applied Process Control MSc

Your Course

My course is very intense. It's so fast-paced that I'm gasping for breath, but it's worth every minute invested so far ...

Making Friends

The people in Newcastle and at the University are pretty friendly  Also, it's a very international environment so it's quite easy to make friends here.

Cost of Living

The cost of housing here is a little bit pricey but generally not too bad. Aside from that, everything else is ok.

Living in Newcastle

You get to meet people from different parts of the world. Ethnic communities are well-established around here.

International Advice

I chose to study at Newcastle because of the reputation of the Process Control Program here. If like me, you find yourself facing this direction because of something you are pursuing, but you're not quite sure, take it from me, it'll be worth it. My instructors are geniuses. I'm "scared" of them sometimes just because they know so much it makes me feel like a minion. But then, they give me something to aspire to too. They're not lopsided, geeky impenetrable types as the stereotype might suggest. They seem to live balanced and well-rounded lives and they have such a roaring sense of humour you could almost think it's a requirement for getting hired around here. I think I like them lot and I'm grateful to have been taught by them.

Accommodation

I live in Heaton, off Chillingham Road. It's a quiet area and it's close to Dominos Pizza. What is there to complain about?

Best Thing

The best thing about Newcastle is that studying with my course mates, it makes me feel like we are a band of brothers. We are always looking out for one another. I share a very healthy friendship with them and I think that, for me, is the best thing about being here.

Mature Students

It's intense. My family is back home and I miss them more that I can find words for. So, I just keep ploughing on. I want this time to be worthwhile so I don't feel I did all this for nothing.
