I completed my PhD by developing and applying social, engineering and management methodologies to increase the profitabiltity and understanding of UK industries and its workforce. Previous projects that have been assessed independently by the UK Department of Trade and Industry received highest possible ratings for the transfer of technical and management knowledge. My projects enhanced research and training in science, engineering and technology management being directly relevant to businesses and governmental organisations.
In my current role I develop new approaches in modelling of resource flows, life cycle assessments, industrial ecology and standardised systems in urban environments as part of the EPSRC funded project on "Resource implications of adaptation of infrastructure to global change”. We aim to provide system-scale understanding of the inter-relationships between resource mapping and resource use in cities by applying Industrial Ecology and Life Cycle Assessment thinking in relation to climate impacts, land use, transport and the built environment.
