Newcastle University holds Visit Days for prospective undergraduate students in the Summer and Autumn each year. Visit Days are your opportunity to explore the University before you apply. All of our courses are showcased during Visit Days and you will be able to see our excellent teaching and learning facilities, take a campus tour, visit University student accommodation and hear about other parts of student life such as sport or the Union.
After you apply, you will be invited to an Open Day. The day includes a detailed review of your course, a full tour of our facilities and an interview with a member of staff. You will also meet current students and get time to talk to them away from staff and parents to hear what studying with us is really like. We strongly encourage you to attend an Open Day, even if you visited us before you apply - you'll be surprised how much more there is to hear about.
Although we interview, please don't worry about this - the interview is as much for you as it is for us. Use the time to ask the staff member about your chosen course and life in the School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences - we're happy to help!
We try to use the interview to learn more about you as an individual, and it adds a lot to what we can get from your UCAS personal statement. The interview notes are used to support your application rather than 'catch you out'.
If you can't get to Newcastle, why not have a look at our Virtual Tour?
