The School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at Newcastle is one of the largest groups in the UK to work at the interface between the built and natural environments. Our main business is Higher Education, Teaching and Research and we are recognised leaders in this. We work closely with industry to ensure that our teaching and research is transferred to the market place, i.e. is relevant to businesses. One of the ways that we do this is through our varied CPD programme which gives delegates an excellent opportunity to extend or update their knowledge and learn new skills. Courses are informed by cutting edge research and provide delegates with an opportunity to forge or strengthen links with the University.
The School has invested in a Professional Development Unit that supports all its CPD activity. The Unit gives our CPD clients a single point of contact enabling them to access information and assistance promptly. Do contact us if you require further information about the programme of courses or bespoke options. We are also happy to advise on local accommodation, methods of payment and any other practical details associated with the CPD course you are attending. Do contact us by email or phone to access this service.
The majority of courses are held on the University campus, many in the Professional Development Unit within the School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. The campus is conveniently situated in Newcastle's compact city centre and can be easily reached from both the railway station and airport using the city's Metro system, www.ncl.ac.uk/about/visit/travel. There is an excellent range of hotels within walking distance of the campus and discounts have been negotiated for delegates attending the courses.
