Attendance Type

I am a member of staff or a student at a UK University
If you are a student or staff member at a UK University, you may attend the courses using Newcastle University's computers and software. All other delegates should ensure that they meet the necessary licensing requirements.

Staff and students not registered at Newcastle University should email a scan of their staff/student card to the Professional Development Unit.
Staff and students within the School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences: please contact the Professional Development Unit to book a place.

I have the required licence for ArcGIS:

  • To attend Network Analysis using GIS, you must confirm that:
    • you have/your organisation has purchased a commercial ArcGIS 10.1 licence and so can provide Newcastle University with licence keys for ArcGIS 10.1, Network Analyst and Spatial Analyst, or
    • you will bring your own laptop with the ArcGIS 10.1 free trial software installed.

Please note that the free trial software can only be used when installed on the delegate's laptop. Details on the licensing and purchase of the ArcGIS software can be found at www.esriuk.com/software/arcgis/arcgis-for-desktop. If you intend to bring your own laptop with the trial software installed, system requirements can be found at resources.arcgis.com/en/help/system-requirements/10.1/index.html#/ArcGIS_10_1_for_Desktop/015100000002000000/. Please do not download and install the trial software until you have received further advice and guidance from the Professional Development Unit.
