A one-day course designed to help teachers discover and start using GIS.
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) have taken their place as one of the key topics students learn within GCSE and A level Geography programmes. But GIS can be used in other subjects too. This one-day course introduces the basic GIS skills, software and shows you cool ways that GIS can be incorporated into your teaching. You will go away with plenty of resources, ideas and even GIS on a Stick!
During this one day course, you will:
Registration for the course takes place from 09:00, with the course starting at 09:30 prompt. Lunch is at 12:30, and the course finishes at 16:30. The course is held in the Professional Development Unit Suite on the second floor of the Drummond Building on the Newcastle University campus.
