The course provides a thorough grounding in the techniques used by transport planners for travel demand forecasting and the theory underlying them. Upon completion, delegates will have an understanding of the key components of the travel demand modelling and forecasting process.
The course covers a number of relevant themes in the context of the four-step planning model. The theory underlying the four-step planning model is studied in detail by a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, hands-on computer training sessions, and presentations. Several travel demand forecasting related case studies from the region are incorporated to demonstrate the link between theory and practice.

This course is also delivered as a Module (code ) on at least one of the School's Masters programmes, the majority of which can be studied part time, making them suitable for those in employment.
