Dr Aristides Kiprakis

Aristides is a Lecturer in Power Systems at the School of Engineering of the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Institute for Energy Systems.

His research focuses on renewable energy conversion and integration, smart grids and energy efficiency. He is investigator and work package leader in several large collaborative UK and EU research projects, including the FP7 DTOCEAN, the FP7 ITN ADVANTAGE and the EPSRC UKMER projects, and has co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed publications.

Aristides is a Senior Member of the IEEE and Member of the IET and a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Ambassador for East Scotland.

Aristides works on several CESI Work Packages, including:

  • WP4          Energy Demand
  • WP6          Multi-scale Architectures, Planning & Operation
