Abstract: This ethnographic study is exploring occupational therapy students’ perspectives on their curriculum and how they integrate theory and practice.
The curriculum is deigned to facilitate learning both from university based work and practice based experiences. Integration of theory and practice is an important and essential aspect of the students learning experience. The study aims to explore how students believe they integrate theory and practice, what aspects of the curriculum they value and believe are important in facilitating this aspect of learning.
Using an insider ethnographic design, data collection will consist of focus groups and interviews in order to explore the phenomena. Analysis of the data will be continuous and will underpin future focus groups and interview design.
