A CHaBi seminar - Identification of novel functional sites in protein domains from the analysis of human variation

Date/Time: 2nd March 2017 16.00

Venue: Medical Sciences, Dental Lecture Theatre F

Identification of novel functional sites in protein domains from the analysis of human variation using new methodology. A new analysis of protein sequences that highlight structurally and functionally important sites in around 15,000 human protein domains not found by conventional sequence analysis methods. These are likely to have key roles in binding or domain stability.

The study makes heavy use of the popular Jalview (www.jalview.org) sequence analysis program developed by The Barton Group.
