Major Investment in Physical Chemistry Laboratories
As part of the Universities commitment to provide state of the art facilities to its students, work began on the refurbishment of the physical chemistry undergraduate teaching laboratory at the start of April 2011. The old laboratory, on the second floor of Bedson building has been completely stripped out and has been replaced with modern services, flooring, benching and IT connectivity. This modern facility provides bench space for approximately 70 students and completes the transformation of the School of Chemistry’s undergraduate teaching laboratories, which have in the last 5 years undergone complete modernisation at a cost of approximately £2 million. The new laboratory was completed on schedule in time for the new intake of students in 2011/2012. A photo gallery of of the official opening is available here. By clicking this link to bring up the 3D Tour, you can view the exceptional standard of laboratories that is used for all our practical teaching classes.
