Asynt has continued to forge links with the Chemistry Department at the University of Newcastle by donating Grant laboratory Equipment to aid the growth and development of the new Physical Chemistry Teaching laboratory. The donation was made possible when Dr. Kerry Elgie (Asynt) and Roy Homent (Grant Instruments) decided to donate the equipment in order to enhance the quality and performance of the equipment already present in the laboratory. Prof Mike Green(Head of School, 2009-2014) expressed his gratitude for the donation, saying, "Asynt's gift not only strengthens the academic programmes at Newcastle, but helps to provide a high quality environment in which our students can study."
The New Physical Chemistry Teaching Laboratory together with a new School Office and Undergraduate Common Rooms means that Newcastle now has the most modern undergraduate facilities of any Chemistry Department in the UK.
