The Netherlands, one of the closest neighbours to the UK, is well known for its pleasant beaches, the tulips, cheese, windmills and beautiful cities. Dutch people are known to be very open-minded towards personal freedom and languages. English is spoken all-over. Dutch universities have an excellent reputation world-wide and are very well organised. Many degrees are 100% taught in English. Newcastle University is very eager to offer Erasmus exchange stages also to students who would prefer to concentrate on a high-profile scientific project and the experience of a different culture rather than adding a foreign language to the CV.
