Events and Activities for Schools

We offer a range of activities and events for schools both on and off campus, the links below provide information on what we currently offer - they are grouped by frequency - our core activities; Laboratory Sessions, Spectroscopy Tours and various presentations are available on demand throughout the year; others are available at particular times of year, e.g. our A-level Revision Workshops, or are annual events, e.g. the Bitesize and Headstart Summer Schools and our summer "What's it Like to Study Chemistry at Newcastle?" (WiLtSCaN) days.

We also welcome individual requests from schools or other interested groups for ad hoc or bespoke sessions, either on campus or at your venue, tailored to your requirements.

We are currently developing a suite of practical Chemistry activities for primary schools which can be delivered either in our Outreach Laboratory or in your school classroom by either our Outreach Officer or his team of Chemistry Student Ambassadors or even the class teacher themselves!

If you are interested in participating in any of these events, or would like to find out more about what we can offer, please contact our Chemistry Outreach Officer, Dr Peter Hoare.
