This is an informal meeting, open to any interested school teachers and university academics, to meet together and discuss issues of mutual interest. These include curriculum developments, teaching methods, possible funding opportunities and joint initiatives, and discussing how we can better bridge the school to university transition gap.
We are hoping to be able to hold joint meetings with the Chemistry Outreach Coordinator from Northumbria University and thus call it the "Regional Chemistry Teacher's Forum". This will minimise the number of visits you have to make to Newcastle whilst maximising the opportunities for mutually beneficial interaction between schools and both Universities. We are also seriously considering taking the Forum "on the road" around the region with the collaboration of host schools.
