I chose the course because I wanted the option to study a language as well as pursuing a science degree that would lead to good career opportunities.
Studying at Newcastle
I am currently in my fourth year of the MChem Chemistry with Study in Europe at Newcastle. The chemistry department at Newcastle deserves it excellent reputation and the staff are very helpful. It's great having a personal tutor throughout your degree; mine has been a source of good advice on countless occasions! As well as traditional lectures and lab classes, you get a chance to develop valuable teamwork and analytical skills in the Group Assignment and Problem Solving modules.
Year abroad with Newcastle
I can safely say that my time living in France was the best year of my life. From doing research in the lab to exploring the Alsace region and the delights of the €1 wine, I learned so much and really grew as a person. Working in the dermachemistry lab was a new (and sometimes scary!) experience that gave an insight into what a career in research could be like.
Living in Newcastle
As well as offering a great university experience, the city is one of the friendliest in the world, and whether you are a party animal, sports lover or culture fan, there is something for everyone.
