Chemistry Open Day Programme
On arrival please make your way to the reception desk on the first floor
landing of the Bedson Building (number 20 on the map).
After registration you will be able to have an informal talk with members
of academic staff over coffee until the programme begins at 12.00 pm.
- 11.00 am–11.45 am

Coffee in the Faraday room.
- 11.45 am–11.50 am

Welcome by Professor Mike Green, Head of School.
- 11.50 am–12.45 pm
-
Presentation by Admission Tutor Dr AR Pike.
- 12.45 pm–1.00 pm
-
Students move to Faraday room where they will be
joined by Chemistry Students for questiontime.
Parents will stay in the lecture theatre where Dr Pike will answer any
questions they may have.
- 1.00 pm–1.45 pm

Lunch in the Faraday Room.
You will be joined by current Chemistry undergraduates for a buffet lunch.
During the lunch period the student will have an informal interview with a
member of academic staff.
- 1.45 pm–2.15 pm

Chemistry in Your Shopping Basket— a talk by our
outreach officer, Dr Peter Hoare.
- 2.15 pm–2.45 pm

Students and Parents will have separate tours under the guidance of
a member of academic staff.
- 2.45 pm–3.15 pm

A talk on finance and accomodation.
- 3.15 pm–3.30 pm

Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire and put
it in the box provided.
Optional
- 3.00pm–4.15pm

You may visit University Accommodation.
The tour will take approximately 1h.15m (there will be a 10 minute walk to
the accommodation.)
Your visit will end after the tour.
There may be some changes in the details of the above programme,
but the starting and finishing times will be as indicated.
