Combined Honours studentsWelcome to Combined Honours

Ours is a challenging, demanding, but highly rewarding degree with many of our students achieving excellent degree results. In the previous three academic years between 12% - 15% of our students achieved First Class Honours and we hope very much that this consistency will continue.

Where we are located

The programme is not housed within an academic school as you will be studying subjects across different schools. Instead, the programme is administered through the Combined Honours Centre, which is part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. We are based in the Daysh Building and here you will find a common room, a place to work and to meet other students, and the staff offices.

Resources

Important information for you during your time at University:

Who to contact for help

The above resources can't cover every eventuality so be prepared to ask someone when you require help or information.

  • Combined Honours Centre staff
  • your personal tutor
  • Subject Adviser
  • Module leader
  • Mentor
  • PASS leader

We are all here to help you through your studies during your time at the University. All first year students have a student mentor - a Stage 2 or 3 student who can answer any questions as well as support you in other ways. If there is something you want to ask and cannot get the information or support from your personal tutor or student mentor we can suggest an alternative contact person.

Staff Student Committee

We believe that students should be fully involved in the programme and have a full say in every aspect of University life. The main way to do that is through our very active Student Staff Committee who represents Combined Honours students and we encourage you to participate.

Combined Honours Society

The Combined Honours Society is run by, and for, Combined Honours students. It organises lots of exciting events, to cater for all tastes. The Society is aimed at bringing Combined Honours Students together.

Communication with students

One of the most important messages to convey to you is the importance of communication. We consider communication to be two way. Most communication from the Centre will be to your University e-mail address, the common room notice boards and our newsletter.

If you have any questions regarding your Degree Programme during your time with us please do not hesitate to contact us.
