Combined Honours
There are inductions for all the Combined students each year including events and support for those entering first year; second year ; final year ; and returning from a Year Abroad.
For first years
There is a comprehensive induction process to Combined that is provided through both events and through processes of support. There are two types of events – and we consider that it is essential to attend these:
Combined Honours inductions events in Welcome Week
Monday 23rd Sept 1-5pm Club 206, St James Park Main induction event
Tuesday 24th Sept 11-1pm Culture Lab, Spaces 4/5 and 7 Academic induction event
Thursday 26th Sept 9-1pm Brae Cluster, Daysh (your precise slot will be notified to you) Guided sign-up to modules
You will have received full details about these in your in your introductory packs we sent - if in doubt contact the Combined Honours Centre or ask your mentor.
The Combined Honours Society will also be holding social events to welcome you.
Subject inductions
Each of the academic subjects has at least one introductory meeting for Combined students.
Processes of Support for induction
We see the whole of the first semester as a transition and induction period. Key players in supporting you during this period are your mentor who will have introduced themselves as soon as your place at university was confirmed in late August. The other key players are your personal tutor who will organise a meeting with you very soon after you arrive; Colin Bryson who is your Degree Programme Director and Senior Tutor; the Combined Honours Centre staff team; and your subject advisors.
