Geography

This subject is offered by the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology.

Subject summary

Geographers study the earth's surface – both its physical attributes and its political and cultural features. This means it's an extremely wide-ranging subject. If you've ever wondered about changes in the environment, what an organisation like the World Bank does or even the spatial pattern of disease, then you've been thinking about topics in geography. The breadth and flexibility of geography make it an ideal subject to study at university.

At Newcastle you can experience training in all aspects of modern geography, emphasising the application of geographical knowledge to the problems of the economic, social and physical environment.

Pre-requisites

Geography normally requires passes at Grade B or above in Geography A-Level, and Mathematics at GCSE (minimum Grade C).
