Students take modules from those offered by the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics, studying both the structure and history of the English language in Stage 1. Subsequent Stages extend this study through options introducing variations and varieties of English, and a range of special topics such as semantics and pragmatics, the sociology of language and the psychology of language.
