Combined Honours

Archaeology

Archaeology

Archaeology is the study of the past from the origin of species to the present day.

UCAS Code: BA Combined Honours (Y001)

We study the physical remains of the past:

  • coins
  • sculptures
  • pots
  • weapons
  • tools
  • texts

Archaeology incorporates the humanities and sciences and can be combined with almost any other subject(s) offered in Combined Honours.

The transferable skills you'll gain from this subject could lead you into archaeological or heritage career.

But they are just as vital for teaching, banking, law and the military.

Offered by the School of Historical Studies we also have a vibrant and active Archaeology Society for you to get involved in.

Pre-requisites

There are no special requirements for taking archaeology as one of your subjects. Most A-level subjects are relevant in such a broad discipline.

We welcome students who have already gained some practical experience of archaeology, but this is not essential.

Modules

For more information on the modules available, visit the Archaeology Module List.

Modules are subject to change and could differ on an annual basis.
