Speaker: Dr Ian W. Jones (from Oracle Labs).
An arbiter sequences concurrent events, such as requests from multiple processors to
access a single memory.
Asynchronous and clocked arbitration schemes are compared. Specifications for the
environment of an arbiter and several interface signal alternatives are presented.
Late-done and sharing arbiters are described with examples of implementations.
