Student wins award whilst on placement with IBM

IBM awards School of Computing placement student with Offering Management Award

The School of Computing congratulates Elliot Hargreaves for this achievement.

Elliot won the Offering Management Award for his product testing work at the IBM Manchester Laboratory. Elliot was testing a new storage product, ensuring it behaved as expected in a production environment.

Elliot, who is studying BSc Honours Comp Science (Security and Resilience) with Industrial Placement commented “It was quite a surprise when I saw that I'd been chosen for the Offering Management Star Award for 17Q4. It's easy to think 'I'm just a placement student' and that you're not there long enough to really make any waves but that's just not true. If you show initiative and determination, people will notice.”
