Dr Emerson de Mello

Background

Emerson Ribeiro de Mello is a professor at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC), Brazil (since 2007). He received a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2009 from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He also received an MS degree in Electrical Engineering in 2003 from the Federal University of Santa Catarina and a BS degree in Computer Science from the Unoeste University in Brazil (2000). His research interests include Reputation Systems, Distributed Systems, Security, Trust Models and Identity Management. Currently he is the IT Director of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (since December 2011).

Whilst visiting the School of Computing Science, Emerson is conducting his own research on Identity Management and interacting with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers within the School to share knowledge.
